British officials say that swine flu cases in England dropped by nearly 25 percent in the last week.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Health Protection Agency estimated there were about 64,000 new cases last week, compared with about 84,000 cases the week before. The numbers are only a guess since they are based on indicators like how many people call their doctors with flu-like symptoms or call the national swine flu hotline.
Health officials also said the number of Tamiflu treatments have dropped and that swine flu is mainly hitting children under 4.
Last month, Britain began its swine flu vaccination program, targeting risk groups including health workers, pregnant women and people with underlying health problems.
