Mexico's health secretary says the country has received a first shipment of 865,000 doses of swine flu vaccine.
Jose Angel Cordova says health workers and pregnant women will be the first Mexicans allowed access to the vaccine. Vaccinations will begin over the weekend.
Cordova said Monday that 7 million doses are expected by year's end and that Mexico plans to buy a total of 30 million doses. The country has more than 100 million residents.
As of Friday, Mexico had 64,322 reported cases of swine flu and 573 deaths.
